Here Are Our Observations.

Males are generally sweeter and attach well to the whole family, they will acknowledge multiple owners and seek out attention from everyone. They love to cuddle and always want a warm body to lay next to. They can be really goofy and consistently good for a few laughs. They also tend to be a little more clumsy and needy.

Females are smarter. They tend to attach themselves more to a single owner. They will show affection to and tolerate everyone else, however they are usually loyal and the most loving to one specific person. They are a little more bossy and more independent. They will, however, seek you out when they want some extra love. They also tend to be are more elegant, and graceful.

Of course each pet has their own personality which might override my gender observations.

They both make great pets, it just depends on what you are looking for. With cats as long as you spay and neuter them you don’t have to worry about spraying or aggression.

We breed for the Traditional Applehead Siamese look. We follow the guidelines from the Cat Fancier’s Association and The Traditional Cat Association. We also breed for temperament and we follow the guidelines there too. Your cat will be loving, loyal, extremely intelligent, perhaps a bit needy and very vocal! Something to keep in mind if you have never owned a Siamese. They are often called dog-like cats as they tend to follow you room to room and can easily pick up a few tricks.

Keep in mind as well that each kitten will also have their own personality. We write a detailed Personality Profile of every litter. This can be very helpful in preparing for your litter one. It also helps to ensure the kitten you choose is a goof it for your family.

Here is an example of one of our Personality Profiles.

Winnie’s City Kittens’ Personality Profile!

Keep in mind their personalities can change, especially at this age, and environment plays a huge role. As young kittens how you treat them will mold their personality as they grow. So use these write-ups as a starting point, not as a definite to define who they are and who they will become.

Lincoln (Green Collar, Male, Blue Point Siamese) – Lincoln is a big cuddly, sweet, teddy bear. He reminds me of Garfield, he loves his food and is perhaps a bit lazy, although still a kitten so he definitely has his playful times. However, his all-time favorite will always be snuggling in the warm lap of his favorite person. It does take him a bit to warm up to new people and may be a little wary of chaos, but once he gets adjusted, he can handle himself in just about any situation. His also loves his tunnel toy. I had so much video of him playing in it, and he seemed quite content on running through and popping in and out of it surprising the other kittens when he could. I am not sure if the final edited version of the video showed his true passion for that tunnel, but he definitely needs a tunnel of his own in his new home. I just know his new family will fall right in love with him and enjoy his sweet, loving, loyal personality.

Paris (Light Pink Collar, Female, Lilac Point Siamese) – She is outgoing and adventurous. She was the first to venture out and start exploring, with Rio not far behind. She takes to strangers instantly and sees them as new friends. She is curious and a bit of a troublemaker. I can often find her exploring new areas and climbing to new heights. She loves, loves, loves toys and will enjoy a family that will spend lots of time playing with her or even better, one with other cats or dogs to play with too. While our puppy can be a bit overwhelming for most of the kittens Paris seems to have formed a good bond with him. She especially enjoys playing her favorite game with him of popping out from the sofa and hiding again real quick before he can get to her. She is also a purr machine. She can purr so quickly and so loudly. She uses this when she wants attention. She will turn on her purr magic and you will not be able to resist the urge to pet, love and cuddle her.

Rio (Red Collar, Male, Blue Point Siamese) – This guy just keeps going and going. He is so much fun to watch. Even more fun to play with. He is high spirited and high action. His biggest problem is he can’t decide which one thing is the most fun, so he has to do it all, zipping from activity to activity. He is very easily distracted and I cannot tell if he has a favorite toy. I guess his favorite would be whatever toy is right in front of him at the time. He is a bit of a troublemaker, with Paris as his partner in crime. The trouble those two get into have me laughing all the time. Rio is also a climber and will enjoy a cat climber of his own one day. Store bought, handmade, or even just some cardboard boxes stacked together, it won’t matter to him. They are all equally as fun. Just don’t give him all three at once he won’t be able to make up his mind which to explore first. Even with all his craziness he is still a love bug. He is always the first to come running when I call all the kittens and the first to wants to be picked up and cuddled.

London (Lavender Collar, Female, Blue Point Siamese) – London is very sweet and cuddly. She is outgoing and gets along well with about anyone. She is a bit babyish and enjoys being spoiled. She also likes to keep herself clean and can be a bit of a Miss America. She knows she’s beautiful and will use it when it suits her. She doesn’t mind being carried around or woken up for a few extra pets. She is easy going and gets along well with her siblings and other cats of the house. She can be seen playing with anyone, although people are definitely her favorite. She enjoys any toy that you are playing with most. I had a hard time getting video of her as all she ever wanted to do was climb in my lap and spend time with me. She didn’t understand she had to stay a few feet away for filming. She wanted to be in my lap playing with toys or snuggling, just like any other day.

Dallas (Light Blue Collar, Male Blue point Siamese) – He is the poster kitty as to why I like to wait as long as possible to write these personality profiles. Just a few weeks ago I would have written him very differently. It was mostly during the shooting of our video I saw his personality come to life. Dallas is a superstar! He demands to be the center of attention. I had a hard time filming some the other kittens as he kept jumping in and taking over. It was also then I understood he was the leader of this litter. I would have given it to Paris or Rio, but he showed his dominance and you could see the other kittens fall in line. He loves his toys and he loves others playing with him. It doesn’t matter if you’re another kitty, a doggie or a person. If you play with him, he loves you! Once he tired himself out, he climbed into my lap and took a nap. I was then able to film the other kittens while the star of the show took a well-deserved rest.

Cheyenne (Hot Pink Collar, Female Lilac Point Siamese) – Cheyenne is a bit more on the shy side and takes some time to warm up to strangers. Once she gets to know you though she will be your best friend. She likes to attach herself to those she feels safe with and follow then like a sweet little puppy dog. She likes to come out and play on her own terms, but can almost never resist a feather teaser. She gets along well with the all the other cats and kittens of the house, although she tends to shy away from confrontation when possible. I should point out she is not a push over. She absolutely does not let any of the others push her around. I did see Rio once try to take a toy from her and she stood her ground and gave him a little smack to let him know that was her toy. I think it’s more her easy going nature, she would rather find something more interesting to do than fight over something unimportant to her. Her new family will probably have to show some patience at first, but will definitely end up with one of the most loyal and loving kitties they could possibly imagine.

As the restrictions due the Pandemic are starting to lift, we have slowly started allowing visits again. Still at this time we are not able to host at the same capacity as before Covid-19. If a visit is a top priority for you, please contact us prior to placing a deposit to make sure we will be able to accommodate.

Also, for now we do have to limit visits to one per family. For example if you decide to visit prior to placing a deposit with us, we will not be able to schedule a visit for you to pick out your kitten in person. The next visit we will be able to host for you will be your kitten pick up day.

Let me first say we love meeting new families and showing off our kittens. Most of the time I truly enjoy hosting visits. It is usually much more relaxed than kitten pick ups and not as rushed. However, we do need to limit visits to only those families that are serious about adopting a Sweetie.  For safety reasons and to ensure we don’t end up hosting a visit every day of the month it is our policy to require a kitten deposit prior to scheduling a visit. Since this can be a hardship for those who are still undecided, we have also started allowing families to pay a $50 visit fee instead of a requiring a full deposit up front. If they decide to go ahead and place a deposit after the visit the $50 will be applied to the price of the kitten.

Picking Out Your Kitten In Person.

If you are interested in picking out your kitten in person when it is your turn to choose there are a few steps that need to take place before we can schedule your visit. First off you must have a deposit placed with us and we must have kittens available for you to choose from. You will be asked to visit when the kittens are between 6-8 weeks old. You can wait until it is your turn choose, however, in that case there may only be a small window of  3-4 days in which we can schedule your visit. We will do our best to accommodate when we can, but please understand that other families will be waiting for you to make your choice so they can then choose their kitten. Also keep in mind you will not be able to take your kitten home that day; they will be too young. You will have to plan to return for pick up a few weeks later. Another option we can offer is for you to visit before it is your turn to choose. You can meet the litter and keep in mind the ones you are considering. Then when it is your turn to pick, you can use your experience during the visit to help you decide. For those that live farther away we can also offer Video visits to help you choose you kitten.

Testing Allergies

If you are visiting to test allergies and have a deposit placed with us, we will refund your deposit minus the $50 visit fee, if your allergies prove to be an issue.

Keep in mind we breed Siamese along with our Balinese and we have Bichon Frise in our home as well. The Siamese tend to shed less and produce less of the protein most people are allergic to, however they are not considered hypoallergenic as the Balinese are. I am told a Bichon is considered hypoallergenic, but since I am not a dog expert and no one in our home has allergies I do not know for sure if this is true (he is our family pet and it is just a coincidence my son chose this breed which may happen to be hypoallergenic). Any of these animals may flare allergies and since we are a cage-free cattery all cats and our dog roam freely around the house leaving dander in every room. A visit to test may not give accurate results.

Of course, we still welcome those who think a visit will be helpful. I also advise bringing a rag to wipe down a kitten or two to take home with you. It may be a better way to evaluate your allergy to solely test Balinese kittens.

We have had great luck in those who have adopted from us with allergies. In the many years since we have introduced Balinese into our program, we have not had anyone return a Balinese kitten due to allergies. We offer a small guarantee to those that have allergies. We will allow the kitten to be returned within 2 weeks and we will refund all but $350 of the purchase price. The $350 is used to cover a reintroduction vet visit. Once the kitten is taken from our home we need to have our vet perform a FeLV/FIV test , a PCR test for parasites and a thorough wellness exam to ensure the kitten is free of diseases and in perfect health before we can re-home him.

Just Visiting To Ensure We Are Responsible Breeders.

If you are visiting to just to meet us, the parents and kittens before deciding whether to place a deposit, the $50 visit fee will have to be paid via PayPal prior to scheduling. As mentioned before, if you decide later to place a deposit with us the $50 will be applied to your kitten price.

I do not mind those who wish to visit and want to get to know our family a bit first. I am happy to see that families are concerned that they are only supporting ethical breeders and staying away from pet stores and backyard breeders. I am happy to answer any questions and let you meet some of our kittens and parents. However, I do not offer full tours as some websites suggest you should ask for. I understand the reasoning behind this, but we are not talking about private facilities, this is our home. Our Moms and Dads, puppies and kittens live with us, in our bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms, office, our kids’ rooms. If asked generally I don’t mind showing the kittens’ room, but I will not take you through a whole tour of my home. You don’t need to see that I forgot to hang my towel that morning and that my teenage son left a plate of spaghetti on his floor the night before. Or that my husband will throw his dirty clothes on our bedroom floor, right next to the hamper..because I guess putting it in the hamper is too much effort. We are a regular family with regular lives that happen to love the Siamese Breed and are lucky enough to be able to raise happy, healthy kittens for families in NC. We will invite you into our home and host you in our main living area. Those cats and kittens that wish to greet you are welcome to do so (this will be most of them as they are all pretty outgoing) they also love, love, love any extra attention they get from the visitors. However, I can not promise you will see every cat and kitten. Let me know beforehand if there is a particular one or two you’d like to meet and I can do my best to make that happen. Just keep in mind we respect our cats and do not force them to perform, this is not a zoo or a circus, this is their home. So please when you visit be as respectful as you would as a guest in anyone else’s home. I  always wonder what those that want to see every nook and cranny expect to find.  I always imagine them poking around in the basement hoping to find a secret dungeon full of caged cats and dogs.

All of our Sweeties are raised with our Bichon Frise Puppy. Most will bond easily with any type of dog within a week of going home.

Siamese are born with a gene that produces partial albinism. A genetic mutation of this gene restricts coloring to the cat’s extremities, including the facial mask, legs and tail. This mutation affects the enzymes that produce pigment in the fur, but the amount of pigment these enzymes produce is greatly affected by temperature.

Temperatures of 98 degrees Fahrenheit or greater cause the enzymes to produce almost no discernible coloring in the hair shafts on the cat’s main body. Since cat’s extremities are generally cooler than the body, the enzymes produce coloring in these areas.

Combine this heat sensitive enzymatic action with other modifying genes, and the results are the various color point patterns seen in Siamese cats.

Siamese are born pure white with pink noses. The temperature inside the womb exceeds 98 degrees Fahrenheit, so there is no color production. The enzymes don’t become fully operational until the kittens are a bit older. This means that although we can make an educated guess at the color outcome of a breeding, we won’t be able to tell which color a kitten will be until approximately a week or two after birth.

Blue eyes are also the norm for Siamese kittens. While many breeds are initially born with blue eyes that darken later on, the partial albinism gene found in the Siamese causes the eyes to remain blue. The color you see is actually the result of light being reflected back from the retina. This means the blue color you see can vary.

We currently offer Seal, Chocolate, Blue, Lilac, Flame and Torite Point Siamese. We also plan to offer Lynx Points soon!

Seal Points will have fawn or cream colored bodies with dark brown almost black colorpoints on their face, ears, paws, and tail. Their paw pads and nose leather are also dark brown.

Chocolate Points will have ivory colored bodies with milk chocolate colorpoints on their face, ears, paws, and tail. Their nose leather and paw pads are cinnamon-pink.

Blue Points will have bluish-white or silvery colored bodies with deep-blue/gray colorpoints on their face, ears, paws, and tail. Their nose and paw pads are slate blue-gray colored.

Lilac Points will have white bodies with pinkish gray colorpoints on their face, ears, paws, and tail. Their nose leather and paw pads are cinnamon-pink.

Flame Points (Red Points) will have warm white bodies with reddish-orange almost golden colorpoints on their face, ears, paws, and tail. Their nose leather and paw pads are pinkish in color.

Tortie Points can come in these point colors.

  • Seal-Tortie Point
  • Chocolate-Tortie Point
  • Blue-Tortie Point
  • Lilac-Tortie Point
  • Blue-Cream Point
  • Lilac-Cream Point

Tortie Points have parti-colored points and can be flecked with shades of red and cream. Because this pattern is a sex-linked mutation, torties, are always females. Their body color will depend on variation of colorpoint but can also appear speckled.

Traditional Applehead Siamese  Classic Old-Style Siamese  Modern Wedge-Head Siamese

Traditional Siamese
also called Appleheads most resemble the original Siamese cats as they were when imported from Siam or what is now Thailand. They have a fairly round (apple-shaped) heads with rounder eyes, and a stockier, more muscular body. Males have an extra pad of fat under their chin which makes their face appear rounder than the females. Their ears are equivalent to the average domestic cat. They have long legs and a long tail, though not as long as the other two types. Their coat, although they are a short-haired cat, is plush and soft and can have a bit of fluff to it, especially the kittens.

The focus of our breeding program is to protect and grow the Traditional Siamese breed. Only 20 years ago we came so close to losing these amazing cats as Siamese breeders focused more and more on the wedge-head style variation.

The Traditional Cat Association is the only association that recognizes this type of Siamese as a distinct breed. We are proud to work with them in their efforts to restore these cats to a stable number.

Classic Siamese sometime called Old-Style are somewhat of a cross between the Traditional and Modern. They have a moderate wedge-shaped head and face, with more definition to the muzzle than the Traditional, but without the extremes of the Modern. They have almond-shaped eyes and their ears are slightly larger than the average cat. Their legs are longer than the Traditional, but not as long as the Modern. They have a long, thin, tapered tail. Their coat is short, fine, glossy and smooth and lies flatter than the Traditional.

Although the Classic Siamese are not the main focus of our program, we do offer 1-2 litters of Classic Siamese a year.

Modern Siamese also called Wedge-Heads have extreme wedge shaped heads. They have lean, muscular elongated bodies, long delicate legs, long thin tails, wide set ears, a sharp face, long muzzles, and extremely slanted blue eyes. Because of their exaggerated features, the Wedge Head Siamese is proving to be prone to the respiratory, pulmonary and dental problems.

We do not breed Modern Extreme Wedge-Head Siamese. We stand with The Traditional Cat Association in belief that breeders of these cats have gone too far. In their efforts to breed more and more angular faces they have produced cats with breathing difficulties, dental problems and a long list of other genetic defects.

There is a small contract we ask our new pet parents to look over and sign. Nothing scary, just simple guidelines to make sure our babies are going to responsible homes. This includes asking that our cats are not used for working or breeding purposes, that our kitties are not be de-clawed and under no circumstances abandoned, given to any pet shop, humane society, pound, shelter, research facility, or euthanized for behavioral problems. Balinese cats are a long-hair variation of the Siamese breed. They came to be from a gene mutation which produced a long soft-silky coat. Siamese breeders in the US discovered that they were seeing kittens puffier than a Siamese should be. They knew that no other breed was introduced into their breeding program and that their program was sound, but every once in a while they still saw these kittens with fur that was too long to meet the Siamese standard.

Although the beauty of these cats was recognized, these kittens were placed as pets rather than breeding or show animals as they did not meet the standard breed descriptions. It wasn’t until 1928 that the first Balinese was registered. This came about from a few breeders that fell in love with this sweet, regal breed.

Since the Balinese are becoming more and more popular, you will have those that will try to take advantage. There has been alot of fraud with this breed lately. I have seen backyard breeders presenting Himalayan, Ragdoll and Persian mixes as Balinese. They may look similar enough as kittens to fool those that are not highly educated on the breed, but they will flare up allergies and you will probably notice the mistake once they start growing. A couple of things to look for, one a Balinese will have a super soft, silky coat, comparable to angora rabbit fur. You can definitely feel the difference between a Balinese coat and other cats’ fur. A Balinese will also always have a plumed tail and no undercoat. You will not need to brush your Balinese, although you can and they do enjoy it, but they will not get mats in their hair like other long-haired breeds (unless of course they get something in their fur). True Balinese will not have mitted feet, also known as snowshoes. This is usually a Ragdoll trait, although it has slowly been making its way to the Siamese, as of right now it is not an accepted trait of the Balinese in any of the US Cat Associations. Balinese are also smaller cats comparable in size to Siamese. They may look a little larger than Siamese, but generally this is only because of the fur. Balinese females that are not overweight generally will weigh around 6-8 lbs and males can be about 3-5 lbs heavier. As a comparison Ragdolls are typically 15-20 lbs. One last thing to mention, I am seeing is fluffy Siamese kittens passed off as Balinese. Traditional Siamese kittens do tend to have a little fluff as kittens and lose it as adults. A Balinese should have a noticeably fluffier appearance as a kitten with a plumed tail, as they age they will lose some fluff, but will always keep a semi-long coat with a plumed tail.

There are two main reasons why Balinese are said to be hypoallergenic. The first is they do not produce the protein that triggers most allergies. The second is they do not have an undercoat which causes them to shed less than your average tabby. Those that are sensitive to cat hair may be able to once again cuddle a kitty with one of our low-shedding Balinese.

We have had great luck in those who have adopted from us with allergies. In the years since we have introduced Balinese into our program, we have only one return due to allergies. We offer a small guarantee to those that have allergies. We will allow the kitten to be returned within 2 weeks and we will refund all but $350 of the purchase price. The $350 is used to cover a reintroduction vet visit, once the kitten is taken from our home we need to have our vet perform a FeLV/FIV test along with a full panel test for parasites and a full wellness exam before he or she can be re-homed.

Yes! We do offer shipping within the United States. The complete cost generally comes to between $400-$500. This includes airfare, travel carrier, travel to the airport and a health certificate issued by a vet (required by most airlines). This does not include the price of the kitten.

We are now offering a delivery service for those who live within 150 miles from zip code 27105. For those within 35 miles cost is an even $50. For those over 35 miles cost is $1.54 per mile. Please contact us about delivery service prior to placing your deposit so we can be sure we can provide this service to you in your area. Kittens will either be delivered by myself, a family member or a specialized pet courier service we have come to love.

Our goal is to keep the Traditional Siamese breeds alive with well socialized, family-friendly cats and kittens. We breed our cats for the Traditional Pointed Look and for the trademark Sweet-Sassy Siamese Personality. We follow the guidelines from the Cat Fancier’s Association and The Traditional Cat Association. Your cat will be loving, loyal, extremely intelligent, perhaps a bit needy and very vocal! Something to keep in mind if you have never owned a Siamese. They are often called dog-like cats as they tend to follow you room to room and can easily pick up a few tricks.

In order to breed high quality kittens, they require high quality care (as do their Moms and Dads). Kitten mills and backyard breeders don’t just cage their animals and keep them in horrid conditions just because they are bad people, they do it is because it is cheaper and easier. To breed ethically and humanely (which is the bare minimum anyone should strive for) it cost quite a bit.

See our cost of Breeding Page for more info:

Cost Of Breeding

To breed for top quality, not only do you need top quality food, vet care with happy socialized kittens, you need to start with top quality Moms and Dads. They need to live happy, fulfilled lives so their focus is on raising their babies and they can pass their happiness and good temperament onto them. When you support ethical breeders, you help contribute to the survival and betterment of this breed we all love!

Selling breeding rights or offering stud services is something we consider on a case by case basis. We prefer to work those we can build a relationship with and work with for years to come. These relationships are important as we share a common goal of keeping this amazing breed going strong!

Yes! We currently offer a $50 discount to anyone adopting two kittens or families returning for a second kitten.

We also offer a $50 discount to our past and present military personal. Please let us know of your service when placing a deposit. We truly appreciate your sacrifice!

Here is all the fine print behind our Health and Genetic Health Guarantee.

Insurance Coverage: Breeder will supply Purchaser with 30 days free emergency insurance coverage. Purchaser understands they must activate coverage within 24 hours or agree to purchase comparable coverage. If Purchaser fails to activate coverage, they understand they will be fully responsible for all emergency vet care of said kitten, even if it is within the health guarantee window.

Health Guarantee: Breeder guarantees kitten to be in good health to the best of their knowledge, as confirmed by our veterinarian and the health paperwork you receive. Purchaser agrees it is their responsibility to have kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian at their expense within 72 hours from the time of pick up or shipment. Failure to have kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours will void this health guarantee. If kitten is found to be medically deficient with a treatable, untreatable or life-threatening problem during said 72 hours said kitten must be returned to Breeder immediately at the Purchaser’s expense. If Purchaser proceeds with veterinarian treatment, Breeder will NOT be responsible for any treatment given and Breeder will not reimburse any treatment expenses even if within the health guarantee period. If within this 72 hours, kitten/cat is deemed by Purchaser’s licensed veterinarian to be medically deficient for health reasons, and kitten is returned to Breeder, Breeder agrees to exchange for a kitten/cat of equal value. If there is no kitten/cat available to furnish Purchaser at the time of return, Breeder will have up to (1); one year to provide Purchaser with an exchange kitten/cat from the date of return or provide Purchaser with refund of the kitten’s original purchase price. Kitten/cat cannot be refunded or replaced/exchanged after guaranteed period has expired. If the kitten/cat dies within the guarantee period, despite medical treatment, compensation will be made ONLY if a licensed veterinarian certifies the cause of death as being congenital. If kitten/cat was exposed to other kittens/cats/viruses and not medically, emotionally and nutritionally cared for during this time period and kitten dies from the result care of Purchaser, Breeder will not honor health guarantee. It is the Breeder’s right to ask for the kitten/cat to be returned for identification by Breeders’ veterinarian before providing a replacement or any compensation. This is to show if it was due to Purchasers neglect or natural/genetic reasons occurring within these 72 hours; (3) days. Under no circumstances is the kitten/cat to be destroyed or disposed of prior to notification by the Purchaser to the Breeder.

Genetic Health Guarantee: Though we test for many known genetic defects and we try to do the best to breed only the best lines to produce genetically sound and superior kittens/cats, nature and certain anomalies can occur. Because of this we offer a 12-month genetic health guarantee. At any time during the 12-month guarantee period if said kitten is diagnosed with a genetic defect that will affect its health, life-span or require ongoing severe financial medical costs, said kitten can be returned by Purchaser at Purchaser’s expense and Breeder agrees to exchange for a kitten/cat of equal value. If kitten is not returned by Purchaser and Purchaser chooses to keep said kitten, no such compensation, or replacement will be provided by Breeder and genetic health guarantee shall immediately be null and void. If within the 12-month genetic timeline said kitten were to die, kitten will be replaced ONLY if an appropriate autopsy is performed by a licensed veterinarian and a veterinarian’s certificate is provided as proof that it was due to a genetic defect as cause of death. Under no circumstances is the kitten/cat to be destroyed or disposed of prior to notification by the Purchaser to the Breeder. Death of kitten/cat that is caused by lack of medical care, viral, bacterial, and suppressed immune system infections such as Feline Infectious Peritonitis will not be covered by health and genetic health guarantee, no reimbursement or kitten replacement will be provided. If kitten replacement is provided under guarantee, it will be made of a cat of comparable quality and value, as available; at the discretion of Breeder.
